The Dish on Comfort Food Thursday
Every Thursday night, from 4pm to 8pm, The Watershed Cafe features a special comfort food dish intended to warm you up from the inside out. For the Rasumson family, comfort food is more than a delicious meal. It is a simple dish evoking complex emotions of nastalgia. Expect wholesome, hearty food made with care; and with every bite, you feel welcome, you feel at home.
"We make food that makes you feel good," Chef Eli Rasmuson explains. "We invite you into our kitchen, we invite you into our home." Standing there, surrounded by the Rasmuson family, enjoying the activity and the life of the kitchen, inhaling the robust smells of roasted garlic and sauteed vegetables, I knew exactly what Eli meant.
The Watershed Cafe's comfort food is about family. "We make meals we all know. It's meals families made because they knew their kids were going to eat it." Rita Rasmuson shared. "We want to bring you back to those moments of gathering family together at the dinner table." Expect those familiar meals like Beef Stroganoff, Chicken Pot Pie, Lasagna, Mushroom Ravioli, and Shepherd's Pie.
These comfort food dishes are made with few and simple ingredients. "We use what's fresh and in-season. We use what's available, what's warm and comforting," Rita exclaimed. "Our comfort food is made-from-scratch and made with intention."
In our warm and cozy cafe, we invite you to enjoy a flavorful comfort food special that will leave you feeling satisfied, content, nurtured, and nourished.
